What happens when I hit the 100-reference trial limit?⌄
Equinoia keeps working normally. You can still open, tag, and browse what's already in your library. You just can't import new references until you either delete a few old ones or buy a license, which unlocks the library instantly with the same file on disk.
Is Equinoia available for Mac or Linux?⌄
Not yet. Equinoia is Windows-only for now (10 and 11, 64-bit). A Mac version is on the roadmap, but there's no date to promise. We'd rather ship it right than ship it early.
What does "2 computers" actually mean?⌄
One license key activates on two machines at a time, your desktop and laptop, say. If you replace a computer, you can deactivate the old machine from the app's account screen and activate the new one.
Does it support video, PDFs, and design files?⌄
Yes. Images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC), video clips, PDFs, and design exports (PSD, AI, SVG, Sketch) all preview inside the app. Anything else still imports and opens fine in its native application.
Do I need an internet connection to use it?⌄
No. Equinoia runs entirely offline once installed. An internet connection is only used to activate your license and check for updates, both of which you can also skip.
How is this different from Eagle or a folder of files?⌄
Equinoia is built on the same idea: a fast local library instead of the cloud, with a few things we felt were missing. Rule-based smart collections, palette search, and libraries that stay 100% plain files rather than a proprietary database you can't read without the app.
